ABOUT FLAGSTAFF SKI & SNOWBOARD TEAM
Since 1967, the Flagstaff Ski & Snowboard Team has trained thousands of Arizona junior athletes, from talented amateurs to Junior Olympians. We train at the Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff, AZ. The Flagstaff Alpine Ski Team (FAST) competes in the US Ski & Snowboard Southern Series of the Rocky Mountain Division of the Rocky-Central Alpine Region. The Grand Canyon Freeride Team (GCFT) competes in the USASA Grand Canyon Series. Today FAST and GCFT train over 180 dedicated junior athletes from ages 6 to 19 by more than 25 professional coaches on Arizona’s only junior alpine athletic team.
The Flagstaff Ski & Snowboard Team is more than just a team. It is a family of highly-dedicated coaches, parents and junior athletes. Our junior athletes are taught the skills and techniques of advanced and competitive skiing and snowboarding, and perhaps more importantly, the virtues and values of respect, cooperation, endurance and a deep appreciation of the outdoors. These are qualities that will define them forever. Our mission is to help families develop extraordinary human beings through our junior alpine sports programs.
The goal of our teams is to teach youth athletes all-mountain awareness and safety while advancing their ski or snowboard skills and HAVING FUN! We utilize the US Ski & Snowboard SkillsQuest curriculum. Numerous coaches are Level 100, 200, and 300 US Ski & Snowboard certified. Our coaches are passionate about winter sports, fun, and teaching our athletes. Many of our coaches grew up on the team themselves!

Ryan Rawlinson | Hello my name is Ryan Rawlinson and I am a fifth generation Flagstaff native. I as many others grew up Ski racing on team F.A.S.T. My father and his cousins coached and raced on the team before me and now I have two of my own on the Team. My Fathers mother was the First head of ski school at the Snowbowl which meant my dad got to spend tons of time on the ski hills. For many years the mountain has felt like a home away from home and my passion for skiing was developed. Traveling around Colorado and competing taught me many life lessons that I try and convey to athletes and parent in the club today. After competing myself I became a Coach on the team and spent the next six seasons continuing to develop our ski racing community. I took a few years off as a coach and returned in the winter of 2016/2017 since then I have helped coach in many different aspects on the team and was nominated to join the Board in the spring of 2022. When I'm not on the mountain I am usually still in the woods either Working for the Forest service or fueling my other passion archery hunting.

David Todd | David started skiing at the ripe old age of 4. Growing up, ski racing was the highlight of his winters back in the Midwest. His son has been on the Flagstaff Ski and Snowboard FAST race team since the 2020-2021 season. David has a passion for skiing, winter sports and helping athletes create a love for the sport, which he sees as more than just competition; it’s about fostering life skills and community spirit.
TC Eberly | TC took up alpine skiing as a teenager on the storied slopes of Mountain High and Snow Summit in Southern California and access to skiing was a primary factor in his decision to move to Flagstaff to attend NAU. He still enjoys trying to keep up with his two daughters who are members of the all-mountain team and believes that the FSST is an incredible resource for improving access to winter activities for youth of all abilities and backgrounds. |
